FROGS IN THE BOG

FROGS IN THE BOG

There are frogs in the bog
when you go to the loo
remember their presence
it's their planet too.
There're frogs in the bog
and a snake by the gate
he's a scaly old mate
who stays out late
to soak up the sun
when autumn comes.
He goes up to the house
to dine on mouse
and sleeps in the shed
so take care where you tread.
There's frogs in the bog
a snake by the gate
and swallows that nest in our ceiling
they swoop at first light
and again before night
feasting on midge and
mosquito.
There's frogs in the bog
a snake by the gate
and swallows that nest in our ceiling
a little stripped geko
lives under the sink
if it sees you watching
it goes quick as a wink
so be gentle with him
he can climb but not swim
in the kitchen.
There're frogs in our bog
a snake by the gate
swallows that nest in the ceiling
a little stripped geko
and a sleepy old bog-eye
that sits by the steps
and patrols the garden
to keep out all pests.
There're frogs in our bog
a snake by the gate
swallows that nest in the ceiling
a little stripped geko
a sleepy old bog-eye
and a long legged-spider
that drops from his web
right onto my bed.
"Hello Fred. Watch out for my head"
and he climbs back up
on his spidery legs.
There're frogs in our bog
a snake by the gate
swallows that nest in the ceiling
a little stripped geko
a sleepy old bog-eye
a long legged-spider
and an ancient old tortoise
who lives under our tank
don't pick her up
it won't be good luck
when she gives off a stink
to make you think
that she's frightened.
There're frogs in our bog
a snake by the gate
swallows that nest in the ceiling
a little stripped geko
a sleepy old bog-eye
 along legged-spider
an ancient old tortoise
and yabbies galore
that live in the creek
and nibble your feet
but they like to eat
goldfish that turn into carp.
There're frogs in our bog
a snake by the gate
swallows that nest in the ceiling
a little stripped geko
a sleepy old bog-eye
a long legged-spider
an ancient old tortoise
yabbies galore.
Have I told you before
that our house is a zoo
and we live in it too.
And out in the paddock
there's never a rabbit -
an emu or two
and a few kangaroo
a bilby, an owl
a some rare mallee fowl.
Some say we are mad
but we are all glad
to be so environment
friendly.
